6 pinhole cameras for 2021
As photographic technology continues to advance further and further forward why on earth would you consider trying a photographic technique from the 1850s in 2021??
A pinhole camera has a single small aperture, known as the pinhole, and that's all it is, is a light-proof box with a small hole on one side. To get an image the light needs to pass through the pinhole and project an inverted image onto the opposite side of the box onto a piece of photographic paper or film.
Pinhole photography may be a ridiculously basic camera compared to a basic DSLR, but there are a few people who have advanced pinhole cameras to make them more usable, reliable and enjoyable.
A few companies and individuals have been improving their cameras over the years and here are a few of my favourite out there at the moment.
ONDU
ONDU Pinhole launched their range of pinhole camera in 2013 through a Kickstarter campaign, they are now on their MKIII version.
They have a range of cameras from small 35mm pocket cameras to giant 8x10s.
The new versions have the option of a RISE function.
The RISE has 3 holes, this gives you the possiblity to expose the images with the option of raising of lowering the horizon of the image either to the lower or upper third or centre without distorting the horizontal lines of the subject.
They have improved their shutter system to a sliding shutter that was designed for shake free exposures as well as the ability to shoot pinholes with filters.
ONDUs are are beautifully hand crafted cameras, with a minimalistic design and simple operation.

The pinhole camera come in 2 options, one with a rise function (2 pinholes) and the other with a thread for a 52mm filter.
These cameras are very highly recommend and used by many pinhole photographers.
