lake District day 1, camp set, cameras ready.
Day 1
After a 358-mile drive—broken up with an overnight stop—we finally arrived at the stunning Sykeside Camping Park in the Lake District. Nestled beneath towering fells and surrounded by sweeping views, it felt like the perfect base for the week ahead. We set up our tent, cracked open a well-earned beer, and let the calm settle in.
Not long after, we took a short walk down to Brothers Water. The evening light was soft, the air still, and the reflections on the wa
ter were irresistible. It hit me then—I'm going to burn through so much film on this trip.
I’ve come well prepared: a bag full of pinhole cameras and plenty of film stock. With me are the RealitySoSubtle 6x6, the panoramic 6x17, and the beautifully crafted Mania Pinhole from Ralph Man. For film, I’ve packed two boxes of Kodak Gold 200, plus eight 4x5 holders loaded with 16 sheets of Fomapan 400.
