Camping at Bodiam Boating Station

First camping trip for 2019 - Bodiam Boating Station.

Bodiam Boating Station is in Northiam East Sussex.

This is a beautiful little campsite right next to the River Rother, with just 25 pitches on a 1.5 acre plot with open views to the south and east, accommodating tents, caravans, motorhome, camper vans and trailer tents. Camp fire are encouraged.

We were there on May 10,11 and 12th 2019 and is was so nice and quiet with just one other family in the main field and 2 small groups on the smaller top field.
In the main field camp plots are around the outside of the field to leave a nice play area in the middle.

Facilities
Newspaper delivery - Fresh water supply - Washing up area- 4 x Hot Showers - 8 x WC - Optional Electric Hook-up - Fire Pit hire & Fire wood - River Cruises - Kayak/Canoe/Rowing/SUP Hire - Fishing permits - Restaurant.

You can hire kayaks etc of bring your own, we brought our Kayak and one SUP along, if your staying on the site you can launch for free, if you are visiting for the day and bring your own kayak, SUP etc you do need to pay a launch fee per water craft.
You can paddle down the river to National Trusts Bodiam Castle (about 3.61 miles) or take one of their river cruises.

An added bonus, there is a steam train and station which runs along the bottom of the next field, which we all enjoyed seeing go by.

Early May was still a little cold at night so we loaded up with extra blankets, duvets and onesies, also brought a tent carpet for the living area just before we left which really made a massive difference to the feel of the tent, for our Berghaus air 6xl tent we struggled to find the Berghaus carpet as everywhere was out of stock, so we went for a Vango Universal Tent Carpet which was pretty much a perfect fit and highly recommended.

We really enjoyed this site and will defiantly be going again soon make sure you check out there site https://bodiamboatingstation.co.uk for all the information.

Enjoying a cold evening.

  4. I recently rented a pontoon boat from Sunnyside Marina and had an amazing day out on the water. The boat was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of room for our group of friends to lounge and relax. And with the onboard grill and cooler, we were able to have a great picnic lunch while taking in the beautiful scenery of Lake Tahoe. Tahoe pontoon boat rentals

  5. Your blogs are amazing. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful blog. Recently, I also traveled to some of my local locations. I took my tent and went on a duo tour. My cooking experience was top-rated. We used a camping stove. At night we did a bonfire and enjoyed the night beneath thousands of stars.
